Late last night Mettie was taken off the Scuba mask and put back on the RAM.  She still needs air forced into her lungs and they continue to do a lot of Suctioning.

She has been working hard today to breathe.  They continue to deep suction her and they always get a good amount of thick mucous.

Today we found out from the preliminary genetic test that Mettie has Cri du Chat syndrome.  A depletion of Chromosome 5.   We love her no matter what.

Matt and I were both able to take turns holding her.  It had been almost a week since we have had that sweet opportunity.  Daddy sang his favorite songs to his precious little Mettie.  She was absolutely relaxed and at peace in her daddy's arms.  This moment will forever be in our hearts.

Tonight the nurses tried suctioning and the Scuba mask because her CO2 levels were slightly up. Mettie's oxygen and blood pressure levels went down.  They tried suctioning but there was no improvement so the decision was made to put the breathing tube back in again.  She is doing much better and is more relaxed.

  1. That is just too precious! It's amazing how they just know who their people are, the ones that love them the mostest.
