Mettie was given her first dose of Caffeine. The hope is to wake her up a bit so she is not so dependent on her ventilator. They stopped giving her a sedative as well. She seemed pretty agitated in the morning, sucking and fidgeting with her tube. She was awake a lot more through out the day. So fun to see her eyes more.
Levi came to spend some time with mom and Mettie. He read a book to her and kept watching for her eyes to open. He was so excited to catch her opening her eyes just about every time he looked up at her. Mettie enjoyed listening to her big brother. He turned to me with a big smile and asked, "Do you think I will be her favorite?"
Yes, I think you will be one of Mettie's favorites!! He has so much love and concern for his sweet sister. As do all of her siblings. Mettie will have a lot of favorites!!
