Surgery Day.  At 11am Mettie was taken to the OR to receive her first surgery, her colostomy.  This is wear they cut the colon and turn it out so that both openings are at the surface of the skin.  She then had a bag placed over it to catch all her discharge.  The surgery went well.  She did receive blood due to a decrease in her blood pressure.  They kept her on morphine for the pain, plus everything else.  So she was out for a while.
